Digital prints were a key feature of the AW’11 collection from Givenchy.
The colour palette reminded me somewhat of the AW’10 collection by Christopher Kane with black and purple having a heavy presence. The use of sporadic sheer panelling provided a sexy, coquettish vibe whilst crushed velvet added an element of luxury.
An acid bright, yellow jumper skirt combo was one of the highlights whilst a skirt suit with digital print detailing was also a particular favourite especially when you realise that the jacket is in fact a sports jacket with elasticated wristbands and not a tailored blazer.
I’m not too sure if this collection is doing anything new; but the evolution of prints and colours is always a pleasant evolution to behold.
