Prada AW’13 Shoes

I enjoy seeing what Miuccia comes up with each season at Prada especially when it comes to the men’s shoes. Regular readers will know I have a weak spot for Prada footwear and the crazier the better! For AW’13 Prada have done me proud with a range of covetable brogue styles with chunky, jagged-edge soles on traditional uppers. I just hope they release a two-tone version!!!

Christopher Shannon

For AW’13 Christopher Shannon took reference from numerous hoarding-themed TV programmes as well as work by photographer Paul Graham and documentaries by Chris Smith and Marc Singer.

For me Christopher Shannon has always been a favourite of the London menswear scene and this collection exceeded all my expectations. From the use of wool, nylon and leather to the clashing of colours and expert layering.

The collaboration with Kickers is still going strong and looks great and I absolutely LOVE the fact that Shannon has ventured into womenswear. Some of his pieces are already quite versatile in their gender appeal but I think it’s about time this mighty fine designer starts doing it for the ladies too!

My favourite pieces were the comic jumpers and the zip detail sleeves. I also loved the use of leather in oversized shirts and the colour palette incorporating mint, maroon and cobalt blue made for a refreshing A/W medley.

Craig Green @ MAN

Craig Green took monochrome to its furthest reaches for AW’13 with a collection of distressed tailored pieces paired with high-tech sports fabrics and obstructive face masks.

The face masks in question made a statement about identity or the lack thereof.

The clothes had a sophisticated edge with a grunge/goth undertone.

Astrid Andersen @ MAN

For AW’13 Astrid Andersen has given sportswear an edgy twist with the use of crushed velvet, bold print and multi-coloured fur.

Injections of purple, turquoise and fuchsia broke up the black and added an element of playfulness and eccentricity.

The use of nylon gave an 90s street-wear vibe to the collection – further emphasised by the monochrome hi-tops sported by every model.

Les Plus Dorés T-Shirts

I have seen this brand featured on a number of blogs over the past few months and the January 2013 issue of UK Elle has now also featured this label…

Cult t-shirts or a bland marketing exercise? Whatever your opinion, these t-shirts are simple and quite cool. In a way I think you can use the t-shirt to show your fashion allegiance.

For me, I’d be buying the Ricardo Tisci one and Browns Focus on South Molton St is currently stocking a few different styles. £70 isn’t too steep either!

Alexander McQueen Show Boots

These shoes are EPIC!

They are from the Alexander McQueen AW’12 collection and they need to be in your wardrobe now.

A major fashion statement can and will be made with these.

Prada Pudsey

So my previous post was about teddy bear coats and now this post is about teddy bears! Again, another recurring theme may be emerging…

Katie Grand has rallied the fashion army to create an amazing array of designer Pudsey bears that are going to be auctioned off to raise money for the charity Children in Need. I am a big fan of the Pudsey bear anyway and this year I am massively swooning for a particular one!

The full array will be on display at Selfridges in London from today and the auction at Christie’s will take place next month so make sure you pop down and check them out before they’re in private hands…

The one that I am lusting after hugely is the Prada Pudsey. Not only is he standing up (none of the others do this) but he has a miniature pair of the espadrille brogues on in the same colour-way as mine!!! I love the little printed eye-patch scarf too and the outfit is so SS’13. I’m not sure how much these bears are expected to fetch at auction but I am pretty sure I won’t have the money to buy him.

I might send a little email to Miuccia asking if she’ll make another one just for me! I’ll offer to pay as well of course…
